Business Women’s Day

Business Women’s Day is celebrated on September 22 every year to show women can do everything men can do, and in some cases even better. The business world has not always recognized women. The American Business Women’s Association works on issues of gender equality in business.

History

According to statistics, almost 7 million women are officially employed in the United States today, and almost 8 million more are business women. It was made possible by the efforts of four women who, many years ago, came up with the American Business Women’s Association. And it happened at a time when women could not even afford to work full time. The organization was registered on September 22, 1949 with a noble mission – to provide women with equal rights in work and business. The Association has brought together women entrepreneurs from different fields, exchanging experience, helping each other, and defending their rights.

• According to statistics, women are several times less likely to receive funding for their business than men. More than half of the women in America’s 100 richest women built their company from scratch.
• Today, there are about 9 million registered companies in America (about 40% of all American businesses) owned by women, with a total profit of more than $ 1,7 trillion.
• Economists note that companies run by women are vital to the economy.
• Business women consider themselves happy and rate their happiness three times higher than women who do not have their own company.
