Aura Awareness Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of November and is a special holiday for those who are aware of the non-physical energy emanating from their surroundings. This phenomenon has intrigued people for centuries and on this day, many may discover something new about themselves!

History

Aura Awareness Day was founded by Cynthia Sue Larson, a coach, author, and inspirational speaker, in 2002. However, the concept of aura was discussed as early as the beginning of the 19^th century. German physician and healer Franz Mesmer argued that all objects had an electromagnetic fluid shell that enabled them to interact. At the same time, Karl von Reichenbach, a chemist and naturalist, suggested that some people radiate energy. His experiments were documented in journals but largely ignored.

Walter Kilner, MD, used tint filters and resin in 1991 to study the aura. His work paid off as he discovered three layers of different colors surrounding the skin and noticed that these shades changed depending on the person’s state. It is believed that the aura can be described as a fluid and that it operates at certain frequencies.
