Ken Day is an annual American holiday dedicated to the Ken doll. Speaking of the doll world, it is impossible to imagine the famous Barbie without her partner. Ken was introduced later, two years later. Soon it was impossible to imagine Barbie without Ken, and his popularity skyrocketed. It is celebrated on March 13.

History

The doll’s full name is Ken Carson. It was created by Mattel, a major toy company. The world first saw Ken at the toy fair, where the company presented its new creation in 1961. He originally had very short hair and was quite thin. Later, Ken turned into a pumped-up, handsome man.

The humanoid dolls from Mattel were produced in the same universe. Barbie quickly fell in love with society, began to appear cartoon series, comic books and other things. The pair remained indivisible until 2004. However, the company decided to separate them and released an Australian surfer doll, Blaine Gordon, who became the new partner.
